Home Authors open and Chuck Norris ends the first day of MFF
Chuck Norris fights communism in the open air cinema in the centre of Široki brijeg, even two times. Sounds good? Yes, we know. Even if we say that this is just the title of one of the great documentaries that Mediterranean film Festival brings to the big screen in this week full of film treats still sounds good, right?

The Festival partner movie network HBO brings the film ‘Chuck Norris vs. Communism’ to our audience and it will be screened twice in the open air cinema. We will also enjoy under the stars in the films from Operation Cinema, traveling project that always presents interesting European feature films.

The competition program has 22 documentaries. It will be opened on Wednesday 24 August at 21h by Croatian film ‘Tourism’, directed by Tonći Gaćina, the film that follows fragments of various stories from the Adriatic coast. As always, the competition is selected with care and comes from all the Mediterranean parts. From love and war, passion for football, family, reflection of power, tobacco black-marketing, madness to fantastic story about Yugoslav space program that Tito sold to Americans, and which will make you think for sure.

The ‘Home Authors’ program brings three home films. ‘Petra’s Choice’ directed by young director Ivan Čolak from Široki Brijeg, ‘A Second Family’ directed by Zdenko Jurilj, and ‘Garage Rockin Craze’, the film about Tokyo music scene created by Mario Ćužić from Čapljina, will be screened on the first Festival day from 17h.

One year left to being mature, the Festival is moving forward, alluring, inviting and confirms that we are thinking of everybody. The Festival is starting the MFF Fora program for kids, which will entertain the youngest visitors in the morning hours. For somewhat older generations and all those who would like to know, see and hear how things used to be, there is the MFF Retrospective program. Six great video recordings from ‘Sutjeska Film’ bring the beauties of Herzegovina, its people, tobacco, ganga singing, rivers, stone, mills to the big screen.

If you have the appetite for more, you miss talks about the film and knowledge, the step forward is MFF Rendezvous. In the morning hours, let’s call it a date with the film and interesting film workers that will present their knowledge and views of the seventh art today, production, creation, and all that you want to know and you are not afraid to ask.

After the film under the stars, competition program, animation for kids, something older for the big ones, talks, European and home, the Festival will be closed on Saturday 27 August by Croatian film ‘Life is a Trumpet’ by Antonio Nuić. This full four-day program, we shall agree, not even Chick Norris can outdo.
