Film ‘Herzegovina’ won the Golden Ladybug
In the tough competition of 60 films from 31 countries from five continents, which were included by the jury at this year's "4th Srem Film Fest", a documentary-tourist film "Herzegovina" was awarded by the Golden Ladybug, the First Prize in the category of tourism.

The film ‘Herzegovina’, directed by Zdenko Jurilj and Ivo Čolak, was created in the production of Kadar from Široki Brijeg, and it shows the region of Herzegovina through little things, little people, rituals close to every human, without pomposity and glorifying of the people and events. The scenes from the film are common for Herzegovinian everyday life. A man passes through Herzegovina for one day and becomes a part of its history and culture.

The story of Herzegovina is a story of life. There was no need to stage a great film studio for it in order to highlight the greatness and naturalness of the landscape and to feel the mysticism. The film is deprived of music, narration and subtitles, and only the genuine images and sounds of Herzegovina are left. The symbols like the river, stone, man, aluminium, tobacco, wine, cheese, wool, wood, customs, sun... are presented through the four stages: Birth – Growing up – Maturity – Infinity.

The producer of the film is Tomislav Bubalo, director of photography is Antoni Ćorić, and Tomislav Topić was in charge of editing. Documentary-tourist film "Herzegovina" was financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and it began its festival life with the premiere screening at Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg.  This was followed by the screenings at Sarajevo Film Festival and film festivals in Trebinje and Mostar.

We have to mention that the international festival of documentary, ecological and tourist film ‘Srem Film Fest’ received more than 300 films from around the world, and about 60 of them fought for one of the prizes. The festival took place from October 5 to 10 2016 at 11 locations in Croatian and Serbian part of Srijem. The film ‘Prey’ from the USA, directed by Alex Jones, won the Grand Prix. The film ‘Sons of the Earth’ from Spain, directed by Patxi Uriza, won the Golden Ladybug in the category ‘Ecology’, the Silver Ladybug went to the film ‘Underwater Metropolis’ directed by Dragan Milutinović from Serbia and Bronze Ladybug went to the film ‘Up on the Farm’ directed by American director Diane Nerwen.
