Synopsis

Thousands of pages of the found diary of Virgilije Nevjestić (1934-2009), one of the greatest Croatian painters and graphic artists, who worked in Paris for most of his life, offer an authentic insight into the life of this great artist. The man who, according to art criticism in France, was considered one of their greatest graphic artists of the 20th century (and he called himself a drifter), left behind a large body of work, and his legacy can be found in one place for the first time. As he had no children, the inheritor family transferred his complete work, which consists of a huge amount of graphics, drawings, films and letters, to Croatia.Of humble origins, born in the Herzegovinian village of Kolo, as the eighth child in a poor family, he left his mark not only on French but also on world culture.
