Silver Women
Barbara Babačić / Croatia / 26' / 2024.

Synopsis
Silver Women is an intense portrayal of Bolivian women who live a miserable life within the mining community near the city of Potosi. Shot over the course of a month in 2014, the film explores women’s contribution to the mining economy, and at the same time raises the issue of their marginalisation and stigmatisation within the Andean culture. The director Barbara Babačić asks the question about economic burdens that these women carry and explores the cultural standards that make them invisible in the society.
