Ninth Mediterranean Film Festival was opened on Wednesday evening with
the screening of ten minute documentary film “Under construction” in
French production. On the first festival evening another three
documentaries were screened: Croatian films “The son incidentally” and
“Welcome to Igrane” and Spanish “The tailor”. Over the filled movie

Opening ceremony was short, the director Tomislav
Topić pointed out that here people can see the films which are
generally not distributed and are not very likely to be seen at other
places except festivals. He also added that the team is already in
thoughts on the tenth edition of the festival next year, but that this
hasn’t reduced the quality of preparations for this year’s festival.
The mayor of Široki Brijeg Miro Kraljević expressed the pleasure of
Mediterranean Film Festival taking significant place at the film map,
and also how this event gives evidence about expansion of cultural and
subcultural events in this Mediterranean town.
At the first
festival evening Oscar Perez (“The tailor” / Spain), and Robert Zuber
(“The son incidentally” / Croatia) presented their films. The films
“Under construction” (France) and “Welcome to Igrane” (Croatia) were
also screened.
After-party was held at Hotel “Park” in the town centre. Besides
Herzegovinian and Dalmatian delicacies, for good party Croatian
ethno-punk band took care of.
