14th MFF shows films by the local authors
Mediterranean Film Festival has, already traditionally, gave attention and space to screenings of the works made by the local authors, which is the proof of movie making existence in our parts. And MFF has always done this with pride. We’ve chosen the following for the 14th MFF: Documentary film “Patient”, directed by Zdenko Jurilj, produced by Tomislav Bubalo from Kadar production from Široki Brijeg, will have its Herzegovinian premiere at MFF. The film is the narrative documentary story of the patient’s condition before, during and after the heart operation. This is an atmospheric film that shows the situation in which every man can find himself.
We shall see the film “In search of
father’s grave” as a picture from the hands of Herzegovina’s child. It was made by
father Pavle Crnjac, who tells the tragic destiny of Stipan Crnjac, the soldier
in a division of “Transport Croatian legion” that was a part of the Italian
Eighth army on the river Don in the Second World War. Through this family story
of son’s quest for father’s grave we shall meet interweaved with
memories, remembering, witnesses of not such far away times. Besides these two, the author of the third
film is also from Herzegovina,
but his film treats a story from faraway East. Tsunami Attack (The power of rock
n’ roll) is a documentary that deals with the big earthquake in Tohoku and nuclear
crisis in Japan in 2011, and annual rock concert called Mods May Day.
The author
of the film, who we had the chance to meet at 13 MFF with the film
Rock the Quake, is Mario Ćužić. We hope you’ll enjoy local film treats!
