The second day: BH short films and invincible love
The second day of the Mediterranean Film Festival starts with the screening of nine short films by BH authors. These short films were made by Elma Tatragić, Tina Šmalcelj, Nermin Hamzagić, Damir Bašić, Trik Hodžić, MersihaHusagić, Amra Mehić, Senad Alihodžić and Nejra Hulusić.

The film “Eternals” will be screened within the feature documentary competition. This film speaks about wandering and fleeing, on the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh, an Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan.

“The Taste of Cement”, the second film from feature documentary competition, speaks about Syrian construction workers who are building a skyscraper in Beirut while at the same time their own houses at home are being shelled. The workers are locked in the building site, because the Lebanese government has imposed night-time curfews on the refugees.

“A Feeling Greater than Love” is a documentary about Lebanese demonstrations. The old man at the wheel is calling for people to join a demonstration. His words come from the past, as he’s referring to events from 1973 – events that few remember today.

Five documentaries will be screened in short documentary competition, and documentary film “23 Grams”, directed by Robert Bubalo, will be presented in Home Authors program.

This is a story about the boy who doesn't speak or eat and his parents who are every day troubled with the question – how to feed their son. This is the last film that cinematographer Vedran Šamanović was working on. Unfortunately, he passed away during the filming due to serious health problems.

The evening screening in the open is reserved for the film “Communion” which is presented by HBO Adria program. Polish-Hungarian film speaks about a family gathering on the occasion of Holy Communion and a fourteen-year-old girl who takes care of her dysfunctional father, autistic brother and a mother who lives separately; but most of all she tries to reunite the family. She lives in the hope of bringing her mother back home. This crash course in growing up teaches us that no failure is final. Especially when love is in question.
