'Comic Sans' and 'The Eight Commissioner': Comedies in the MFF Open air cinema
Fiction films ‘Comic Sans’, directed by Nevio Marasović and ‘The Eight Commissioner’, directed by Ivan Salaj, will be screened in the off programme of the 19th Mediterranean Film Festival.

Awarded comedy ‘Comic Sans’, starring Janko Popović Volarić and Zlatko Burić, brings a story full of emotions and funny life situations to the big screen.



The film comes to MFF after being screened at the Pula Film Festival where it won Golden Arenas for direction, sound design, editing, female supporting role, male leading role and audience award. The film won the award for the best regional film at Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST 2018 and was screened at numerous other festivals.

‘The Eight Commissioner’ is a comedy filmed according to Renato Baretić’s hit novel about the politician Siniša Mesnjak and his attempts to organise the elections and form the government on Trećići, the most remote Adriatic island. Frano Mašković and Borko Perić play the leading roles.



The film won the Golden Arena for the best male supporting role at Pula Film Festival, and for visual effects, costume design, scenography and music.These two award-winning comedies, that have become true regional movie hits, will be screened in the MFF open air cinema.
