War Traces at MFF: Peter Jackson, 'Among Wolves'...
Documentaries ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, directed by Peter Jackson, ‘Among Wolves’ by Shawn Convey and ‘Dioecesi Banialucensis Golgotha’ by Vinko Laštro will be screened in the ‘War Traces’ programme of the 20 Mediterranean Film Festival.

On the first night of the Festival August 21, Peter Jackson’s documentary ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ will be screened in the Open Air Cinema in the town centre. Jackson produced this documentary on the occasion of the centenary of the end of World War I, which aimed to show what some elements of that horrible war looked like, but also bring us closer to its human side.

Judging by the reviews, the master known for epic spectacles in which he uses special effects and digital technology has succeeded in doing so. Jackson used restored, sound reconstructed and so far unpublished archive footage from the Imperial War Museum in London and BBC’s audio recordings.

In addition to this documentary treat, MFF will screen the American documentary "Among Wolves", directed by Shawn Coney, on Thursday, August 22 in the Open-Air Cinema, a film about members of a multi-ethnic motorcycle club fighting the aftermath of the war in BiH.

Wolves are no ordinary motorcycle club as revealed in this beautifully filmed, surprisingly intimate documentary about trauma and survival. Still struggling from the aftermath of the Bosnia-Herzegovina War, this multi-ethnic club organizes charity for their small mountain town and defends the threatened herd of wild horses they first met on the frontline.

The last day of the Festival, Saturday August 24, is reserved for the documentary ‘Dioecesi Banialucensis Golgotha’ directed by Vinko Laštro, a film about the period of the past war in these parts.

The film tells the story of the 1992-1995 war period in the Banja Luka area through the testimonies of the exiled Croats. Instead of helping and protecting exiled Croats and Bosniaks, the political representatives of the international community gave great support to ethnic cleansing.
