Recognition to the Mediterranean Film Festival for 25 years of work
The Town Council's ceremonial sitting marked the Town Day of Široki Brijeg, which is traditionally celebrated on the feast of the Assumption. The sitting was opened by the President of the Town Council, Vilson Crnjac, and Mayor Ivo Pavković presented development projects, while guests from Vinkovci emphasised the importance of cooperation and cultural relations. Public recognitions were awarded at the end of the sitting, and Kino video club Amater, the organiser of the Mediterranean Film Festival, was awarded the Golden Plaque "Coat of Arms of the Town of Široki Brijeg". MFF director Tomislav Topić received the award.
The Mediterranean Film Festival received this award for 25 years of dedicated commitment to film culture. It was also awarded for encouraging film production in Herzegovina and the continuous education of young people. This award confirms the significance of the MFF as one of the most important cultural events in the region. It was emphasised that, in addition to the media culture it brought through the organisation of numerous film events, the MFF also plays an important role in the town's image.
