MFF OFF Program: Stories about king, sport legends, war tragedies and animation
This year’s OFF program at the Mediterranean Film Festival features various documentary films, which talk about history, sport, war tragedies, and art, in a unique way.
The film “Tomislav, the King”, directed by Dražen Klarić is in the program on Friday, 10 October at 9 pm. With the help of the leading experts on the early Middle Ages, the film reconstructs the era of King Tomislav, from his coronation on Duvanjsko Field to the epic battle against the Bulgarians and the church council from 925.
Saturday, October 11th, brings a double screening at 5 p.m. - the documentary “TOVA - Greatest Hand, Worst Elbow“, directed by Damir Jelić, dedicated to world table tennis champion Antun Tova Stipančić, and the film “Time of Suffering”, directed by Jozo Patljak, which speaks about tragic events in Bosanska Posavina during the Second World War and its consequences for the local population.
The audience will also have the opportunity to watch the French documentary "Miyazaki: Spirit of Nature", directed by Léo Favier, on the same day, Saturday at 9 p.m., which offers a glimpse into the creative world of the renowned Japanese animator and Studio Ghibli co-founder, exploring his artistic obsession with the relationship between humans and nature.
The OFF program of this year's festival offers the audience a unique opportunity to discover historical mysteries, sports legends, war tragedies, and the artistic visions of one of the greatest masters of animation, through film.
