The jury composed of Zrinko Ogresta, Branka Bašević Gajić and Toni Cahunek stated that the film captivates with its powerful and emotional story of Katya, a young woman whose daily physical labour is intertwined with her inner struggles and attempts to protect her younger sister.

The author created a universal piece that transcends a personal story and becomes a metaphor for the fight for dignity and the future, through precise direction and a touching portrait of female strength. Brilliantly composed shots and visual consistency further elevate the film, giving it the strength and beauty that makes it worthy of the Grand Prix," they stated.

The jury also awarded two special mentions to films “Fiume o morte!”, directed by Igor Bezinović from Croatia and “The Shepherd’s Keeper”, directed by Hadara Oren from Israel.  The jury for the short documentary category, consisting of Vinko Kraljević, Melina Alagić, and Bobby B. Grubić, awarded special mentions to the films "Mawtini" by French director Marianne Barakat, and "Goats!", a short documentary by Croatian director Toni Gaćina.

The cinematographers Alen Alilović, Jana Vuković and Zoran Pilipović, mebers of the jury for Best Camera, in their explanation why they were impressed by the Italian film „Eight of Wands“, stated that in it the camera, with its calmness, precision and sensitivity, creates a deep visual and emotional experience.

They said: “This film is characterized by exceptional subtlety and a sense for the visual rhythm of nature and human presence. Calm, precisely composed frames build a poetic space in which every movement of water, drops or light, becomes the bearer of an inner state. Black and white and color scenes intertwine in gentle balance, while reflections on water and glass create a sense of duality – a world that simultaneously exists and disappears. Everything in this film pulsates with a quiet strength – between the real and the imagined, between movement and stillness.”

They also awarded a special mention to Croatian film „Fiume o morte!“, directed by Igor Bezinović. This film is the Croatian candidate for Oscar. After the award ceremony, the audience enjoyed the film “Tomislav, the King”, directed by Dražen Klarić, , and they saw an exclusive announcement of the film “Conspirators”, directed by Bobby B.
