Documentary film „Follow Me With Your Heart“, dedicated to Fr. Slavko Barbarić's life and work, will be screened in the Home Authors program at this year's Mediterranean Film Festival.

The screening of the film by director and screenwriter Zdenko Jurilj is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, at 7 p.m., as part of the festival taking place in Široki Brijeg from September 23 to 26, 2026.

The film “Follow Me with Your Heart” brings a 70-minute documentary insight into the life and work of Friar Slavko Barbarić, one of the region's most prominent Franciscans. Through archival footage, documents, and fellow Franciscans' testimonies, associates, and pilgrims, the film reveals numerous, previously little-known, details about his life and work.

A special part of the film is dedicated to the projects initiated and developed by Fr. Slavko, including Mother’s Village, the Youth Festival (Mladifest), the Fund for Talented Youth, and the "Merciful Father" association. In doing so, the film highlights his dedication to young people, the poor, and the people in need, as well as his role in spreading the Medjugorje messages throughout the world.

The film also gains documentary value from the previously unpublished conversation between Fr. Slavko Barbarić and the then-Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict XVI, about the apparitions in Medjugorje.

The film was created through the collaboration of the "Our Lady, My Mother" prayer group from Međugorje and the "Vow to Our Lady" Association from Čitluk, co-produced by the Mir Međugorje Information Centre and RTV Herceg-Bosna, with executive production by Kadar Productions from Široki Brijeg.

The inclusion of the film "Follow me with your heart" in the program "Domestic authors" continues the tradition of the Mediterranean Film Festival of presenting current domestic documentary productions to the audience in Široki Brijeg, as well as authors and stories strongly connected to this area.
