In the rhythm of the 27th Mediterranean Film Festival, our guests and filmmakers visited the mayor of Široki Brijeg, Ivo Pavković.

The discussion brought together MFF Director Tomislav Topić, producer Robert Bubalo, directors Vinko Brešan and Siniša Gačić, film and media theorist Johannes Pause, producers Tony Mandić and Camilla Pasetto, and Spanish actor Jorge Muriel.

Naturally, the conversation focused on film, the Festival, and everything that makes Široki Brijeg these days a meeting place for filmmakers and audiences from different parts of the world. They also discussed the Town’s long-standing collaboration with the Festival, as well as the importance of keeping film present beyond the festival venues.

Mayor Pavković emphasised the importance of the MFF for the cultural life of the town and its longstanding tradition, while the Festival director thanked the Town government for their continuous support. 

Our guests particularly highlighted the atmosphere in the city, the encounters with the audience, and the hospitality of Široki Brijeg. Indeed, it is precisely these kinds of encounters and conversations, alongside the films that bring us together, that make the MFF more than just a film program.
