Open-air cinema, wine, and dancing on the second day of the MFF
Following the opening ceremony, the 27th Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg continued its regular program on Thursday, and special attention on the second day of the festival was focused on the return of outdoor cinema.

The first outdoor cinema screening of this year's edition of the MFF was held at Dr. Ante Starčević Square at 7 pm, as part of the "Home Authors" program, and the audience had the opportunity to see the documentary film "Follow Me With Your Heart" by director and screenwriter Zdenko Jurilj.

The film is dedicated to the life and work of Friar Slavko Barbarić. Through archival footage, documents, and the testimonies of fellow Franciscans, associates, and pilgrims, it tells the story of a man whose work left a profound mark on the region and beyond.

The second Festival day film program began in the morning at Cinema Borak. The short documentary “10 Meters Above” by Spanish director Irene Baqué was screened at 10 am, as part of the "In Focus" program. The program then continued with the films “Gone Swimming, Love, Dad” by Izidor Bistrović from Croatia, “The Last Cowboy in Hollywood” by Spanish director Jordi Nadal Perelló, and “The Most Beautiful Man in the World” by Italian director Paolo Baiguera. The morning session concluded with the film “Mal de Madre” by Irena Baqué from Spain.

The competition screenings followed at 5 pm with “Lavender” by Mateja Raičković, a co-production between Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Hungary, “Signs from Below” by French director Maude Vuillez, and “The Fox Under a Pink Moon” by Mehrdad Oskouei and Soraya Akhlaghi.

Following the open-air screening, the festival program continued at 9 pm at Borak Cinema, where the film “Asparagus Bear” by Croatian director Ivan Grgur was screened as part of the competition, followed by “The Balkan Cowboy* by Dragana Jurišić, an Irish-Croatian co-production.

The film evening then had its festival continuation outside the cinemas. The gathering continued with wine tasting at the Vrba Gallery, where festival guests got together for conversations and tasting, and the evening ended in a relaxed atmosphere with a party at the House bar, where festival guests and the audience concluded the second day of the 27th Mediterranean Film Festival with music and dancing.

The second day of the festival thus combined a film program, a meeting with the audience, a local documentary story and festival socialising, from the morning screenings at the Borak Cinema, through the open-air cinema in the centre of the town, all the way to late-night entertainment.

The festival program continues with screenings in the official competition, the "In Focus" program, domestic productions and the OFF program. The audience can also expect content for the youngest in the program of the MFF Forum.

The international jury in three categories will decide on the best works at MFF. Members of the jury for the best feature documentary film - MFF Grand Prix are Alena Džebo, Johannes Pause and Vinko Brešan, while the jury members for best short film - MFF Best Short are Miro Barnjak, Siniša Gačić and Almin Kaplan. In addition to the Grand Prix and Best Short, the audience will traditionally award their prize, while the Best Camera award for the best cinematography will be awarded by the Association of Cinematographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
